DESCRIPTION: APW - Illinois, Bunn first run, serial #240, 15J, 18S, 3oz coin silver OF original case with spring-loaded rear, "Springfield Watch Co." marked white enamel SS dial, KWKS, gilt mvt, s#240. The first run of Bunn production spanned serial numbers 201 to 300 and was finished between March and July of 1872 with this particular serial number having been finished in June.
CONDITION: Mvt: Running, fair cosmetic mvt condition overall, plates with yellowed tone and scattered spotting and fingerprint type etching, small marks around case screw position; dial with hls below seconds-register between 5 and 6, very faint hl above seconds-register, edge flaking under bezel at 4, tiny edge nick under bezel near 6; fine hands, seconds-hand with some finish loss, minute with oxide and finish loss to its spade and tip; case shows medium to ample wear, shallow denting to central rear, ding toward right perimeter of rear, largely reduced engraving detail, rear hinge missing an end-cap; bow pivots freely, push shows little wear; good glass crystal with some bits of glue excess at its seat.
